Dagdi Chawl 2 Collection Till Now (10 Days): Enjoying A Fair Run But Yet To Recover The Budget

Dagdi Chawl 2 starring Makarand Deshpande, Ankush Chawdhary and Pooja Sawant is enjoying a fair run at the box office in Maharashtra. There were some high expectations from the film, but the numbers haven’t witnessed a promising growth on any of the days.

The film is helmed by Chandrakant Kanse. Considering it’s a sequel to 2015’s hit Marathi film, Dagdi Chawl, trade experts expected the film to start on a good note. However, it hasn’t performed up to the mark. As Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan both failed miserably, it had a good space to occupy in the state. But nothing sort of healthy collections were recorded.

In the recent past, we have Marathi movies like Pawankhind, Dharmaveer and Sarsenapati Hambirrao going much above the 1 crore mark and staying at that level consistently. Here, in the case of Dagdi Chawl 2, the film has failed to even hit the 1 crore mark and has been playing in lakhs so far.

Speaking about the collections till yesterday i.e. second Sunday (10 days), Dagdi Chawl 2 has made 4.58 crores* at the box office. The film is yet to recover its budget of 7 crores and it has a chance to make the most of its theatrical run till Brahmastra arrives on 9th September. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s magnum opus will be taking away a big chunk of screens on its arrival.

Let’s see how far Dagdi Chawl 2 will go at the box office!
