Dhanush’s Thiruchitrambalam has emerged as one of the biggest successes for Kollywood in 2022. The film marked the actor’s theatrical comeback after 4 direct OTT releases and he has struck the right chords at the box office. Now let’s take a look at the collection the film has made till now and its budget.
Karnan was the last theatrical release of Dhanush. It was a box office success due to positive word-of-mouth and is the actor’s biggest opener to date. Post it, his Jagame Thandhiram, Atrangi Re, Maaran and The Gray Man were directly premiered on OTT.
Collection Till Now
Released on 18th August, Thiruchitrambalam has completed its 10 days of theatrical run. It is running in Tamil and Telugu languages. The Telugu run could be neglected as the film is yet to the 1 crore mark. However, in its original Tamil version, the film has done stupendous business by making 59.95 crores so far. In Telugu, it has made 0.90 crore so far. The overall total at the Indian box office stands at 60.85 crores.
The film is already one of the biggest Tamil successes of the year and given the positive word-of-mouth among the audience, it witnessed a huge jump on the second Saturday and another bumper day is on the cards today. This Dhanush starrer could have been in a race to the 100 crore club, but since Vikram’s much-awaited Cobra arrives this Wednesday, things are definitely going to slow down.
Budget Of Thiruchitrambalam
The film carries a moderate budget as it has been made at 40 crores. As we can see, Thiruchitrambalam has already recovered its budget and is now a bonafide box office success. It will be interesting to see how fast it hits the 80 crore mark and gets a ‘Hit’ tag to itself.
