WWE Royal Rumble 2021: Edge Won You Know But Some Interesting Facts You Don’t Know

Edge entered at number 1 in Royal Rumble 2021 and emerged victorious which is highly commendable.

Every year we wait like crazy for the rumble between the tough guys of WWE and excitement level behind it is unexplainable. Royal Rumble 2021 too fulfilled our expectations despite a hurdle of Covid-19 restrictions. If we explain in one word, we got what we demanded. At the end of the day, it was rated R superstar Edge who won the 30-men rumble match. But there are few points about which very few would be aware.

Let’s get started:

Edge joins the league of Shawn Michaels & Chris Benoit

Edge is enjoying a glorious run with his latest stint. He returned at 2020’s rumble match with a best-ever body of his career. Now, this time, he has done unthinkable as he entered at number 1 spot in 30-men’s rumble and scored an impressive victory to clear his way to Wrestlemania 37‘s main event.

It’s very rare that a performer entering at number 1 has lasted till the end and achieve his title shot at Wrestlemania. With a victory at Royal Rumble 2021, Edge has joined the elite league of Shawn Michaels and Chris Benoit. To brush up your memory, HBK entered at the first player during 1995’s rumble and emerged victoriously. Benoit won in 2004, after entering at the first spot.

Royal Rumble without Pat Patterson

This one is really a heartbreaking fact! Pat Patterson breathed his last on 2nd December 2020, at the age of 79. The former profession wrestler had a deep connection with WWE. After leaving the in-ring action, he was associated as a creative consultant and producer. Known as one of the important persons in establishing WWE as a brand, Pat was the one who invented the Royal Rumble match concept. This year’s rumble was without him being alive and that’s really saddening.

First and (hopefully) last Royal Rumble without live audience

This one has our mix feelings one as on one side, we missed live crowd presence and the energy of arena, on another side, there’s a happy feeling amongst all fans as it was the first and hopefully, the only edition of rumble that had no live audience. So, loud pops are expected in 2022.

So that’s a roundup of some interesting but lesser-known facts about Royal Rumble 2021. Share us in the comment section if you think we have missed out on any point.
