After some dull releases coming in from Bollywood, a magnum opus in the form of Shamshera is all set to hit theatres this Friday. Starring Ranbir Kapoor in the double for the first time ever, the film also stars Sanjay Dutt as an antagonist. Let’s check out its budget, actors’ fees and much more below.
For those who aren’t aware, the film is helmed by Karan Malhotra, who has earlier directed Agneepath. The Hrithik Roshan starrer was a box office hit and it clicked well with the mass movie lovers. Talking about the cost of Shamshera, the film is a magnum opus and is riding on a high budget. As per strong reports, the film is said to be made on a budget of 140 crores. In the current situation, fingers are crossed about how the film is going to perform.
Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt & Vaani Kapoor’s fees
The highest-paid among all is obviously Ranbir Kapoor. The Sanju star has reportedly charged a whopping 20 crores for his role. Interestingly, the number is said to be lower than Sanju. It is learnt that due to COVID, the actor took a pay cut in his fees.
Talking about Sanjay Dutt, the veteran has charged 8 crores as an antagonist. Vaani Kapoor has reportedly taken 3-4 crores for her role.
How much does Shamshera need to earn to become a clean hit?
As mentioned above, Shamshera is made on a budget of 140 crores. So to be a box office hit, it will need to earn double its cost i.e 280 crores. Yes, the film will become a clean hit at 280 crores, which looks like a difficult task considering not-so-high pre-release buzz.
