Shah Rukh Khan is all set to strike hard again after delivering an all-time blockbuster in the form of Pathaan. Yes, his Jawan is all geared up to shatter the box office, and we’re just 11 days away from its release. As the countdown has started, let’s take a look at the film’s budget, expected advance booking opening, day 1 box office prediction and much more!
Big guns come together for Jawan
The upcoming action thriller marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and director Atlee. Not only that, but even Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara will be working for the first time with SRK. Even Thalapathy Vijay is rumoured to be sharing the screen with SRK in a special cameo.
Budget revealed! Most expensive film of Shah Rukh Khan?
Pathaan was made on a budget of 250 crores, and so far, it’s the most expensive film of Shah Rukh Khan. But now, Jawan is all set to be his biggest outing as the budget is said to be around 300 crores. Yes, you read that right! Despite Shah Rukh Khan not charging a single rupee, the film is a costly affair due to costly songs, action sequences and overall canvas. Also, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi have reportedly charged a whopping remuneration.
When will the advance booking open for Jawan?
Just like Pathaan, the advance booking for Jawan is expected to open at several locations even before the official announcement comes in. It is being said that online ticket sales might start on 28th August, i.e. 10 days before the release. This seems to be an interesting move as talks about ticket booking will help pick up more momentum once the official announcement about the advance booking is made.
Expected screen count
Jawan will release on 7th September and as there’s no other major release alongside in theatres, the film is expected to secure a huge screen count. In India, this Shah Rukh Khan starrer is expected to be released on 5600-5900 screens. The figure might even touch 6000 as an extensive release is planned in Tamil and Telugu markets. It is all set to cross Pathaan’s screen count of 5500. In overseas too, YRF is planning to give SRK his biggest release ever with a screen count of around 2800, surpassing Pathaan’s 2500. In total, the action thriller is expected to arrive on 8400-8700 screens all across the globe.
Jawan box office prediction for day 1
Unlike Pathaan, Jawan will enjoy the benefit of a national holiday on 7th September (Dahi Handi). So, considering this holiday factor and on-ground buzz, the film has a chance of taking a start of 65-70 crores nett at the Indian box office on day 1. While it will surpass Pathaan’s 55 crores to become the biggest Hindi opener, an impressive start from Tamil and Telugu market is also expected.
