Yesterday, we witnessed the release of the first-ever pan-India film in the form of Har Har Mahadev. The film, as expected, took a fantastic start at the box office. In fact, its day 1 collection has surpassed Prasad Oak starrer Dharmaveer to become the highest Marathi opener of 2022.
Boasting of a stellar star cast- Subodh Bhave, Sharad Kelkar, Amruta Khanvilkar, Mohan Joshi and others, the film created good enough pre-release buzz among the Marathi audience. Be it due to narration by Raj Thackeray or the concept it is based on, it has been in the news for the right reasons. On top of that, it’s the Diwali factor which gave a big boost in footfalls.
Even though official numbers are yet to come out, early estimates suggest that Har Har Mahadev has earned a whopping 2.10 crores on day 1 at the box office. It has surpassed Dharmaveer’s 2.05 crores and has become the biggest Marathi opener of 2022. We have reported how the advance booking was looking promising a day before its release. It further got an added advantage of Diwali footfalls.
Har Har Mahadev is now off to a flying journey and as the word-of-mouth has been superb so far, the film is expected to enjoy the benefit of long extended weekend. The stage has been already set and it is now all set to become one of the biggest blockbusters in the Marathi film industry.
Remember, such kind of response has come when there are multiple releases playing in theatres. Yesterday, two Bollywood films- Ram Setu and Thank God released. Then there’s Hindi dubbed Kantara running successfully in theatres. Also, there’s Hollywood film Black Adam enjoying a decent box office run. It’s really commendable that Har Har Mahadev shown houseful board at several places despite so many choices available for the audience.
Let’s see how Har Har Mahadev performs from here on. Till then, keep surfing Chiubaba.com for more box office updates.
