Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu has managed to kick off its journey on a decent note at the box office. It’s the biggest start of 2022 for him beating the likes of Bachchhan Paandey and Samrat Prithviraj. Speaking about day 2, the early estimates are suggesting double-digit collection, which is actually a good sign.
Yesterday, the film released in a clash with Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God. It was the day after Laxmi Pujan, which has witnessed some of the biggest Bollywood openings over the years. Here, however, things looked underwhelming as starts have been not up to the mark. But as we all know, the audience is now highly unpredictable so 15.25 crores on day 1 aren’t bad at all.
After a decent start, the need was to stay steady and manage a double-digit score today. And Ram Setu is exactly following the same trajectory. As per early estimates, the film is earning anywhere between 10.30-11 crores on day 2. Remember, this is as per the trends of evening shows and depending on the occupancy in night shows, the number might slightly shift here and there.
Ram Setu is definitely enjoying the benefit of Bhaidooj holiday but considering tomorrow is a regular working day, night occupancy at several places might not perform as per expectations. Nonetheless, double-digit score is on the cards for the Akshay Kumar starrer. Now, the 2-day collection would stand between 25.55-26.25 crores at the Indian box office. It’s a good enough total considering disastrous year of Akshay.
