Sharad Kelkar and Subodh Bhave’s latest Diwali release, Har Har Mahadev is turning out to be an average affair at the box office. The film took a very good start despite two Bollywood films- Ram Setu and Thank God, clashing with it. But eventually, it couldn’t sustain the momentum. Here’s an update on its collection till now.
Praise from the audience
Helmed by Abhijeet Deshpande, the film is backed by a strong supporting star cast and all of them have performed their parts brilliantly. Be it Amruta Khanvilkar, Ashok Shinde, Milind Shinde, Sharad Ponkshe or Mohan Joshi, the public gave a thumbs up to all apart from Sharad Kelkar and Subodh Bhave’s breathtaking act.
Superb start!
Har Har Mahadev took a start with flying colours and surpassed Dharmaveer‘s 2.05 crores to become the highest Marathi opener in 2022. It made 2.10 crores on its opening day and with the positive word-of-mouth flowing in, it felt like the film will go on to become blockbuster at the box office. Shockingly, the film witnessed a drop right from the second day 2 itself.
Har Har Mahadev collection till now
Usually, we see a Marathi film growing strength to strength when it’s good, no matter if its a working day or a holiday. Here, Har Har Mahadev never rose above its opening day numbers and kept falling with each day. As of now, the Abhijeet Deshpande directorial has completed 11 days in theatres and has earned 9 crores* nett at the box office in Maharashtra.
Just about to recover its budget!
Har Har Mahadev is reportedly made on a budget of 10 crores, making it one of the expensive Marathi films. In front of such a cost, the film has just recovered 9 crores from theatrical business. At the end of theatrical run, the cost will be recovered and only a negligible profit would be made. So, the film is on its way to become just an average affair at the box office.
