Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s cult romantic drama, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) is back in theatres in the form of re-release (only in PVR, INOX and Cinepolis) at selected places in the country. Yash Raj Films and the aforementioned cinema chains have collaborated to give cinema lovers a big-screen gift during Valentine’s Day week. Check out its box office collection right now!
YRF’s cult has been re-released in theatres on 10th of February as it’s a Valentine’s Day week. The film is being screened for a week in limited properties of PVR, INOX and Cinepolis. We all know, DDLJ still enjoys a strong viewership in its television ratings and watching the film on the big screen is no less than an event for the couples.
Released on 10th February, the film has taken an impressive start by pulling off terrific numbers from a limited screening. On the opening day of re-release, the Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer minted 2.50 lakhs nett from its screening from the aforementioned national cinema chains, as per the report in Pinkvilla.
On day 2 i.e. yesterday, DDLJ has shown an unimaginable growth by raking in 10 lakhs. The grand total in 2 days stands at 12.50 lakhs.
After terrific numbers in the first 2 days, the film is expected to earn a healthy sum today and collection is expected to go beyond 22 lakhs easily in the opening weekend. On Valentine’s Day i.e. Tuesday, the Aditya Chopra directorial will see an unprecedented boost in numbers and it may perform much better than yesterday and today. It ensures that the film enjoys a strong re-run.
Meanwhile, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is running in Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir for the last 28 years. It’s running in a matinee show (11:30 am), which is something that is unbelievable!
