Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada releases tomorrow in theatres. After the blockbuster success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, everyone has high hopes for Kartik’s upcoming family entertainer. However, things aren’t looking good at all at the box office if day 1 advance booking is concerned. Shockingly, the film is yet to hit the 1 crore mark.
If you don’t know, this Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer is an official Hindi remake of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Upon its release in 2020, it was a blockbuster success at the box office and had also received critical acclaim for its good storyline and screenplay. Interestingly, Allu Aravind, father of Allu Arjun, is one of the producers of this Hindi remake.
Shehzada day 1 advance booking
As Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 2 turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office, trade experts think that being a remake isn’t going to affect Shehzada if it is made properly. However, the pre-release comparisons with Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo has created some sort of negativity around the film and we can’t sense any excitement in the air.
Speaking about the ticket sales, Shehzada has sold tickets worth 70 lakhs gross till now at the Indian box office. The data excludes the blocked seats, reflecting only the confirmed booked tickets. It’s really disheartening and stands no where in front of Kartik’s own Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which had earned around 5 crores gross from advance booking for day 1.
Poor to average response at national cinema chains
So far, at national cinema chains including PVR, INOX and Cinepolis, Shehzada has sold just about 12,000 tickets in advance booking. It’s shockingly low and isn’t going anywhere from here. Everything now depends on word-of-mouth.
Suffering a dent from Ant-Man 3
Among the multiplex audience, the Kartik Aaryan starrer is suffering the heat of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is doing really well in advance booking at the Indian box office.
