Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone are all set to reunite for the Hindi remake of The Intern. The news along with an official poster was shared by Deepika on her Instagram handle on Monday (April 5).Â
The Intern is a popular Hollywood movie starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro as the lead actors. The movie released in 2015, had received positive reviews upon its release.Â
Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan will be reuniting for the second time after Piku. The news was known to many but it was made official yesterday.Â
Previously, the lead cast members announced by the makers were Deepika Padukone and the late actor Rishi Kapoor. However, due to the sudden demise of Kapoor in April 2020 after battling with cancer for two years, Amitabh Bachchan was approached to fill in his shoes.Â
Deepika will be co-producing The Intern remake along with Warner Bros India and Sunir Kheterpal. Akshat Ghidial and Mitesh Shah have adapted the screenplay.Â
While sharing the poster of the remake on social media, Deepika Padukone wrote that she is highly honoured to collaborate with one of her most special co-stars once again. She welcomed him to the cast of Indian adaptation of The Intern.Â
The caption of the post read: “What an absolute honour to be collaborating with one of my most special co-stars again! Welcoming @Amitabh Bachchan to the Indian adaptation of The Intern.”

The original movie, The Intern, created magic in Hollywood after its release in 2015. The Bollywood audience is waiting for the release of the Bollywood remake to see if Big B along with Deepika will be able to recreate the magic on the screen.Â
The release date of the film is not announced yet. Â
