The Indian Idol 12 sensation was born and brought up in a Hindu family of Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. She belongs to a singer’s family. She did her schooling in Andhra Pradesh from a school named Sri Chaitanya Techno School.
Shanmukhapriya’s mother is a music teacher. She has also been the music teacher for her daughter, while her father is an instrument player. He plays Veena and Violin. Due to her musical family background and deep inclination towards music, she started singing at a young age.
Indian Idol 12 is not the first singing reality show that Shanmukhapriya has participated in. Earlier, she has been a part of many famous reality shows. In 2008, she was a part of Zee Telugu Saregamapa Lil Champs. Following which she also participated in the Telugu show Super Singer Season 9. She managed to fetch all the attention in 2017 when she participated in The Voice India.
The Indian Idol contestant has been facing a lot of criticism lately. In Javed Akhtar’s episode, the singer received a lot of negative comments. In a recent episode, she presented Helen’s song ‘Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu’ by adding her own twist. Unfortunately, she was mercilessly trolled on social media post that.
