In the show, Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) thinks Mr. Iyer (Tanuj) is very lucky since he has Babita (Munmun) as his life partner
The couples in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah are loved by people. The audience finds these couples relatable and interesting. From Dilip Joshi and Disha Vakani to Tanuj Mahashabde and Munmun Dutta, all the actors have been amazing playing reel-life husband and wife.
Out of all, the most talked-about couple of the show is of Tanuj and Munmun. In the show, Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) thinks Mr. Iyer (Tanuj) is very lucky since he has Babita (Munmun) as his life partner. Babita has been the crush of Jethalal since the beginning of the show and viewers too have been in awe of her beauty since the first day. Just like Jethalal, many people make fun of Iyer and Babita by calling their Jodi a complete mismatch.
Now, that’s all about on-screen things. But did you know, in real life, Tanuj Mahashabde was stunned when he was offered the role of Krishan Iyer, the husband of Munmun Dutta’s Babita?
Not many would be aware, initially, Tanuj Mahashabde was only the screenwriter and assistant director of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Later, he was offered to play a Tamil husband to a Bengali wife.
In an interview with Lokmat, Tanuj Mahashabde made a funny revelation that he couldn’t believe that he was offered to play a husband to such a beautiful diva. He said, “Not just others, but even I found it hard to digest that I am playing a partner of a beautiful lady in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.”
Now, that’s really great of Tanuj as mocking ourselves requires a lot of confidence and one real artist can do that!
Meanwhile, Tanuj plays a scientist in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He is often seen indulged in small fights with Jethalal, which are fun to watch.
