In 2013, Kranti Redkar’s was attached with IPL spot fixing. It’s the same controversy in which Indian Cricketer S Sreesanth was arrested. As per some news channels, Kranti was involved in the case and she went into a hotel room to meet Sreesanth.

Later it was discovered that Redkar was the victim of mistaken identity. Even though she didn’t have any involvement in spot fixing, she had faced a lot of backlash from netizens and defamation.

Talking about it, Kranti Redkar had said, “I am shocked at this alleged involvement of mine in the IPL spot fixing and this has mentally disturbed not just me, but my family too. I am filing a defamation suit against the channel as they didn’t even bother to ask me my side of the story,” reports Times Of India.

Speaking about being called Sreesanth’s friend, she had said, “This is also so untrue. I have no connection at all with Sreesanth. In fact, I dunno anybody at all in the Indian cricket team – just like any other Indian I watch cricket on TV only because my dad loves the game. ”
