Kartik Aaryan is grabbing all the limelight for not-so-good reasons. After backing out of Dostana 2, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions reportedly put a ban on him. Just a few days back, he even lost out on Red Chillies’ Goodbye Freddie. Early this morning, we heard of him losing out on another project that is to be helmed by Aanand L Rai.

As per the reports, Kartik was in talks with the Zero director and was all set to sign the project. But before it could happen, the actor was removed from the project. Further, it’s been said that Ayushmann Khurrana could make a cut as Kartik’s replacement. But now, amid such reports, Rai has himself opened up.

In a talk with Times Of India, Aanand L Rai has refuted all such reports as baseless. He said, “There was no such film signed by Kartik, all these reports are baseless. There are so many actors who come to meet me, but that does not mean that he or she has been signed for my film,” in a reference to Kartik’s spotting outside his office early this year.

Reportedly, Aanand L Rai is planning to remake the Tamil hit, Kalayana Samayal Saadam. If Kartik Aaryan was ever part of Aanand’s movie? Only he could share his own side of the story.

Kartik suffered his first big setback when he and Karan Johar locked horns over Dostana 2. From unprofessional behaviour to his sour relations with Janhvi Kapoor were said to be reasons behind his walking out of the film. It’s learnt that he has been replaced by Rajkummar Rao, who was the first choice for the film.

As of now, Kartik Aaryan has two films- Dhamaka is slated for a release on Netflix, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is in the filming stage.
