Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has conquered the Indian box office and has brought good days back for Bollywood. It’s already been declared a Hit by many. But is it really a Hit? Below are all interesting details including the film’s budget, Kartik Aaryan’s fees and how much the film needs to make to earn a Super-Hit status.
Just a little info…
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a sequel to Akshay Kumar led 2007’s Hit, Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The prequel was directed by Priyadarshan, while this one is helmed by Anees Bazmee. Yes, this part too features Monjulika but it has no connection with part 1’s Monjulika. It’s set in a complete horror zone while the prequel was a psychological thriller.
Made on a budget of 32 crores, Bhool Bhulaiyaa had earned approx 50 crores in India and was a good commercial success.
Budget of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 & fees of Kartik Aaryan
The latest release is made on more than double the budget of its prequel. BB 2 has a budget of 65 crores riding on it, which includes production costs, fees of the star cast and advertising. It’s a moderately budgeted film for Bollywood at a time when most films are carrying a cost of over 100 crores.
Talking about Kartik Aaryan’s fees, the actor has charged a whopping 15 crores for the film. Yes, the amount looks big for such a moderately budgeted film, but the actor’s face value is attracting huge crowds to theatres, so it’s justified.
How much Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 needs to be a Super-Hit?
Till day 4 i.e. first Monday, BB 2 did a business of 66.71 crores at the Indian box office. It means, the film has already recovered its budget of 65 crores and everything is profit from hereon. The film will be a clean Hit when it earns 130 crores at the box office. Looking at the current pace, the number is very much on the cards. For the film to become a Super-Hit, it will need to add a bit more than 130 crores. As of now, 150 crores look possible too, so BB 2 is on its way to becoming a Super-Hit at the box office.
