Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the comedy-thriller is said to be a part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy franchise. Kaushik’s Stree was a huge success, so expectations were high from this one. However, despite a good word-of-mouth, the film has not been able to pull the expected number of footfalls to theatres. The business has also been dented by Drishyam 2‘s superb run at ticket windows.
Bhediya collection till now
Official numbers for 9 days are out for Bhediya. As per the update, the film has made 47.70 crores at the Indian box office. Such sort of numbers should have at least come during the first week. Sadly, the response is underwhelming. The good thing is that the film has shown growth during the second weekend, thus getting some momentum on its side. The film has comfortably gone past the 50 crore mark.
Bhediya budget
The film carries a sizable budget as it is said to ride on a cost of 65 crores. So, the Varun Dhawan starrer isn’t a controlled budget film but has a good enough cost for a Bollywood film.
There’s no major competition in theatres until Avatar 2 arrives on 18th December. So, even though Bhediya isn’t performing up to the mark, it still has a window left to cover distance at the box office. As of now, at the given pace, it seems that the film will end up doing business of around 70 crores or above.
Box office verdict
Bhediya would eventually cross the 65 crore mark, thus avoiding a flop tag at the box office. However, if the film drops more than expected during weekdays in the second week, 65 crore mark could be missed.
As of now, the film is heading towards the average verdict.
