The Kashmir Files starring Anupam Kher continues to enjoy its historic run at the box office. On day 5, the film has once again put up amazing numbers and is redefining the record book of Bollywood.

For those who don’t know, the film made 15.05 crores on its first Monday i.e. day 5. Now, this is simply unbelievable as this is similar to Sunday’s 15.10 crores. Sunday’s jump in itself was historic after making just 3.55 crores on day 1. And maintaining the same monumental pace is out of this world.

The number game has become a bit more exciting now as the reports flowing in for Tuesday’s collection are brilliant. As per early estimates, The Kashmir Files has earned 14-16 crores on day 5. When compared to Monday’s 15.05 crores, it’s hardly a drop and the momentum is rock-steady. For the next two days of the first week, similar figures are expected.

The Kashmir Files stands at a blockbuster total of 56.20-58.20 crores and 100 crores will be crossed in the next three days. It will be interesting to see how the film performs once Akshay Kumar’s Bachchhan Paandey arrives in the theatres on Holi (18th March).

As Akshay Kumar starrer is backed by none other than Sajid Nadiadwala, there will be an interesting competition between Bachchhan Paandey and The Kashmir Files in order to secure a good number of screens. If reports are to be believed, TKF will get more screens in the next week and the total count would be more than 2100. So in that case, Akshay’s film could really face a tough time in securing itself a good showcasing.

TKF is a small budgeted film and is already in a profitable zone. But for a big-budgeted film like Bachchhan Paandey, the first thing would be to get a good number of screens and put a solid opening weekend on board. As of now, things are complicated.
