Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thank God has failed to enjoy the full benefit of Diwali on its opening day. It made mere 8.10 crores at the box office yesterday, which is really sad considering the face value of Ajay. After Diwali, the film was expected to see a dip in the collection and exactly the same thing happened on day 2. Let’s find out its collection report for today as per early estimates.

Be it trailer, songs or promotions, the Indra Kumar directorial failed to create any excitement around it. It was the Diwali factor which attracted footfalls on the opening day. Given the Ajay Devgn factor, trade experts expected at least a double-digit in a clash situation with Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu. However, the film even failed in attaining that.

After 8.10 crores yesterday, the need of the hour for Thank God was to stay steady or show a minimal fall. But as per early estimates flowing in, the film is earning somewhere between 5.80-6.20 crores. It would have been good if numbers stayed around 7 crores or above. However, now the situation isn’t good as the overall Indian collection stands in the range of 13.90-14.30 crores.

Thank God is clearly having a disappointing run at the box office. Day 2 was saved by Bhaidooj celebrations to an extent but situation looks dicey as further drops in collection are expected to come on Thursday and Friday. Despite being a mid-scale entertainer, this Indra Kumar directorial will find it hard to survive in the long run as Ram Setu and Kantara would be denting it in the show count.
