Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 continues its glorious run at the Indian box office. Despite completing a month in theatres, the film is showing no signs of fatigue. In fact, it is still establishing new records with its record-breaking pace. In the latest development, it has finally surpassed the Hindi domestic collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan to become the highest-grossing Hindi film in history.

Strikes gold in the absence of major releases!

Directed by Amar Kaushik, the Stree sequel was released on Independence Day in a three-way clash with John Abraham’s Vedaa and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein. However, its hype was so strong on the ground level that the film destroyed the potential of the other two films. Since then, it’s a one-sided domination at ticket windows and the absence of major Bollywood releases has helped the film achieve mega milestones.

Stree 2 at the Indian box office

Stree 2 was eagerly waiting to cross the Hindi lifetime collection of Jawan and the task was accomplished on day 34. Yes, on the fifth Tuesday, the film surpassed Jawan’s 584 crores net to become the highest-grossing Hindi film at the Indian box office. Yesterday, it earned 2.65 crores, and considering its current pace along with the benefit of National Cinema Day, it is on track to become the first entrant of the 600 crore club (Hindi collection only). It currently stands at 586 crores net.

Might fail is surpassing Jawan’s overall lifetime

Including Tamil and Telugu versions, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan stands at 645 crores net at the Indian box office, which seems impossible to be surpassed by Stree 2. So, the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer might miss the chance of becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time.

Stree 2 at the worldwide box office

The Indian collection of the Stree sequel stands at 586 crores net, which equals 691.48 crores gross. In overseas, it has earned 137.30 crores gross so far, which takes the worldwide box office collection to a whopping 828.78 crores gross after 34 days.
