Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee is all set to release this Friday i.e. 24th February 2023. The film also stars Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha in key roles. As we get closer to the release date, box office predictions and projections are doing rounds. But today, we’ll be taking a look at its budget.
Remake of Malayalam film
Selfiee is the official Hindi remake of Malayalam film, Driving Licence. It stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film was a huge hit upon its release in 2019 and now hopes are high from its Hindi remake too. This one is helmed by Good Newwz and Jugjugg Jeeyo maker, Raj Mehta.
Budget of Selfiee
A lot of reports are doing rounds on the internet about the film’s budget and maximum of it state that Selfiee carried a cost of 150 crores. In reality, if trade sources are to be believed, the film has been made at 100 crores including 15-20 crores of publicity and advertising. The number is huge and requires really good collections from the box office.
Akshay Kumar as a producer
For those who don’t know, Akshay Kumar is one of the producers of Selfiee with his Cape Of Good Films company. Reportedly, he hasn’t charged a hefty fees but has taken a chunk of amount from the cost. He’ll be having a share in profits in the film’s non-theatrical and theatrical business.
When Selfiee will get a Hit tag?
The Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer carries a budget of 100 crores. So, the film will need to earn 150 crores nett at the Indian box office to get a Hit tag. For a Super-Hit verdict, it’ll need to at least 200 crores in India.
