For those who don’t know, the Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer was released in Japan on 21st October 2022. So it’s almost 6 months of historic theatrical run in the country. It surpassed Rajinikanth’s Muthu like a cakewalk and became the highest-grossing Indian film and as of now, it has already earned 4 times the collection of Muthu.
Hits a century!
RRR has become the first Indian film to hit the 100 crore mark in Japan. Recently, the film hit the milestone of 1 million footfalls and within a few days, this achievement of 100 crores has come. So, it’s a celebration time for all fans and the makers.
RRR beats KGF Chapter 2 at the worldwide box office
The SS Rajamouli directorial was lagging behind Prashanth Neel’s KGF Chapter 2 by just a few crores. Now, as per the latest update collection, the film stands at a worldwide collection of 1224 crores gross. It has gone past KGF 2’s worldwide tally of 1217 crores gross and has become the 3rd highest-grossing Indian film ever at the worldwide box office. Dangal is at the top spot with 1970 crores gross and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is at the second spot with 1789 crores gross.
Still a lot of fuel left in the tank!
RRR is still going strong at the Japanese box office and it is expected to cover a considerable distance in the coming days. Interestingly, the team is planning to release the film in China and if that comes true, another big chunk of the collection is expected to get added to the worldwide total.
