Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu is turning out to be pretty mediocre affair at the box office. It’s a Diwali release and that too with a face value of Akshay, the performance is really disappointing so far. Let’s take a look at how day 4 collections are turning out to be.
After delivering a mega success with Sooryavanshi last Diwali, expectations were really high from Akshay Kumar this year. Remember, back then the film earned almost 200 crores in India despite so many Covid rules and restrictions in place. Now as things were normal, bumper collections were expected and that’s clearly not happening.
After earning just 35.40 crores in the first 3 days, one expected Ram Setu to collect similar numbers like Thursday (8.75 crores) on day 4. But the film has once again witnessed a fall as 7-7.40 crores are coming in. If compared with 8.75 crores of day 3, it’s a fall of 15-20% which is not a good sign considering the film is enjoying good word-of-mouth. The collection are standing in the range of 42.40-42.80 crores after 4 days. Ideally, these numbers should have been coming in the first 2 days.
As we can see, Ram Setu is yet to hit the 50 crore mark and it has only Saturday and Sunday to show a huge turnaround. 10 crores is the minimal expectation for Saturday and Sunday should aim for hitting 15 crores to see a chance of surviving at the box office. Once the weekend is done, Monday is waiting to dent the business to a big extent as people will be out of celebratory mode by then.
As of now, Ram Setu has an outside chance of hitting the 100 crore mark. Considering the huge budget of 140 crores, even 100 crores are less but at least the film will have some numbers to show as a respectable total. Sadly, it’s turning out to be another failure for Akshay Kumar.
