Rimi Sen Reveals Losing Munna Bhai MBBS Despite Receiving A Positive Response For Audition

Not just Munna Bhai MBBS, Rimi Sen lost out on a role opposite Shah Rukh Khan too

In a recent conversation, Rimi Sen revealed that she had received a positive response for her audition for Munna Bhai MBBS. However, she lost her role to Gracy Singh.

Rimi Sen made her debut in Bollywood in 2003 with the movie, Hungama. She also revealed that she got into Bollywood not because of her dreams and desires but because of her poor financial condition. She was never lured or attracted by fame. She also discussed how distanced herself from comedy movies but they were just futile unsuccessful attempts to break out of that mould.

In a recent interview, Rimi Sen said that she doesn’t like to remain in the public eye and be in the spotlight. However, she still decided to take up a career in Bollywood because she wanted to make money. Sen also pointed out how she made fair success in her acting career because of comedy movies such as Hungama, Garam Masala, Deewane Huye Paagal, and Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. However, when she was offered similar movies, over time, she got tired of them.

Rimi Sen also said, “When I wanted to do serious work, I approached Sriram Raghavan, Tigmanshu Dhulia but unfortunately those films were way ahead of their time and did not work out, so my options were again closed.”

She did a commercial with Ashutosh Gowariker and she had a cordial relationship with him because of which she auditioned for Shah Rukh Khan starrer Swades. Later, Gayatri Joshi got it. When she auditioned for Munna Bhai MBBS, she received a positive response yet she was not selected for it. Gracy Singh got that role. Sen has experienced several such instances where she has lost opportunities yet she believes that these are part and parcels of life and one should take it positively.
