For the unversed, Kanakia was called the prince of comedy due to his way of comic timing and his contribution to the genre. He has also been a part of Gujarati plays and Hindi television shows. His important contribution was revealed by Asit Kumarr Modi during his appearance on TED Talks.

Asit Kumarr Modi revealed how he got inspired by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s work pattern and ethics. He said that he always wanted to make a comedy show that made people laugh on daily basis. However, he could not find a concept. Finally, Jatin Kanakia came to his rescue.

Asit and Jatin worked together in 1998 in the show Hum Sab Ek Hain. Asit shared his idea of making a comedy show, and Jatin suggested he should adapt ‘Duniya Ne Undha Chashmah’. It was written by Taarak Mehta. That’s how Asit Kumarr Modi got the idea of making Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Even though the show is loved by everyone and is a complete entertainment package, the show had to face a lot of rejections before going on air. After getting rejected from several channels, Sab TV agreed to the idea of the show.
