Vikram Movie Review (Hindi): 3 Hour Long Treat Of Sheer Madness, Magic & Mind-Boggling Stuff!

It's a cinematic brilliance which deserves a watch!

Vikram Movie Review (Hindi): A container full of raw material used in making c*caine is whisked away by Inspector Bejoy. What follows next is a series of killings of highly-ranked police officials by a group of masked men. Amid those officials, even the father (Kamal Haasan) of NCB’s ACP is killed too. To find out the motive behind the killings, a black ops team is appointed headed by Amar (Fahadh Faasil). As he begins his investigation, he finds some unknown shocking secrets and gets to know about the dirty drugs racket. But wait, that’s only half of the story. As revealing much would spoil the mood, watch the film by yourself and enjoy its thrills.

Hits- Vikram boasts of superb performances of the entire cast. ‘Ulaga Nayagan’ Kamal Haasan makes his comeback on big screens after 4 years, and he has nailed it completely. He’s bada*s and has shown his complete command over action scenes with a dose of swag, at the age of 67. No words are needed to describe how terrific he is when it comes to pouring out emotions. Fahadh Faasil is a star and shines like there’s no tomorrow. He completely handles the first half of the film. His cold-blooded demeanour and mysterious aura is likeable. ‘Makkal Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi plays it in his own league. He doesn’t need a six-pack abs body to impress anyone and this time he has literally removed his shirt to prove it. His swag, dark humour and enigmatic presence will make you fall for his villainous character. Rest all others too have done their job really good.

As a director, Lokesh Kanagaraj has now become an expert in creating his dark world through his way of unique way of storytelling which has its share of thrills, edgy moments, dark humour and nail-biting twists. In Vikram too he creates a world which looks complicated at first but makes every scene in the second half. While he has done a fan service being a die-hard Kamal Haasan fan, he doesn’t let the story go downhill. He gives equal importance to two other stalwarts- Vijay and Fahadh too.

Action scenes are visually pleasing and it’s a treat for action lovers. Before the interval, there’s a fight scene which is too good. Some scenes, especially in the climax, have KGF 2 vibes to them.

As usual, Anirudh has once again nailed with his heart thumping BGM. He takes the experience of watching Vikram to another level. Out of all, the highlight is Suriya’s entry music.

Misses- The screenplay might come off as too complicated for many. Even though the second half very much clears the confusion, one might get stuck connecting the dots of the first half.

To be completely honest, Vikram is a crazy engaging ride but it’s not meant for everyone! Some might find it annoying due to its treatment and the length could become too much to handle.

In the film, it’s informed how black ops operate secretly and don’t even have a bank account. However, there’s a scene where Fahadh uses his bank card to pay for a brothel. If there’s no bank account, then how is it even possible?

Even though Suriya’s cameo character wasn’t unveiled by the makers before the release, it becomes easy to guess, which character he’ll be seen in.

Is it worth watching?

Vikram is a must-watch crazy thriller which is backed by spectacular performances, a highly engaging plot, a unique way of storytelling, elevating BGM and of course, Suriya’s exciting cameo. And yes, there’s a big surprise waiting in the end!

Popcorn score- 8 out of 10
