Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s Ved is the latest Super-Hit from the Marathi film industry. Released on 30th December 2022, the film continues to bring surprising numbers at the box office and is enjoying glorious run in absence of any major competition. Cirkus’ failure turns into a blessing!
Rohit Shetty has a strong following in Maharashtra and his Cirkus was expected to rule the box office given his stronghold on masses. Due to the same reason, no other major film released alongside it. However, despite solo release, the Ranveer Singh starrer crashed like anything at the box office.
Ved, which released a week later Cirkus, enjoyed the benefit of the Rohit Shetty directorial’s failure as it helped in garnering more screens all across Maharashtra. Post then, the strong word-of-mouth kicked in and the rest is history.
Ved collection till now
Despite mixed reviews, Ved sustained strongly all thanks to extraordinary word-of-mouth among ticket buying audience. Riteish Deskhmukh and Genelia D’Souza’s chemistry won the hearts of the viewers and even Salman Khan’s special appearance in a song acted as a catalyst.
As of now, Ved has completed 15 days at the box office and has earned a whopping 42.20 crores nett. Apart from Maharashtra, the film is playing in other couple of states.
Ved is 3rd highest grossing Marathi film
Riteish Deshmukh’s directorial debut has pushed Pravin Tarde’s Dharmaveer out of top 10 highest grossing Marathi films. As of now, it is at the 3rd position below Sairat (90 crores) and Natasamrat (48 crores). Dharmaveer had earned 26.10 crores, which is now out of 10.

Profit & verdict as of now
Made at a budget of 15 crores, Ved has earned 42.20 crores. If we remove the cost, the returns stand at 27.20 crores. It equals to 181.33% profit and the film is a box office Super-Hit. It’ll be a blockbuster at 45 crores (3X the budget).
