Pushpa Is The 7th Highest Indian Opener By Beating Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa has been in the making for a long, and now, it has finally arrived in grand style. Yesterday, the film took an earth-shattering opening despite omicron cases increasing all across the country.

Allu Arjun’s magnum opus took a blockbuster start right from the word go. It opened with 85% occupancy in the Telugu version. Other dubbed versions too took a very good start. As a result, a whopping number of 45 crores came in.

Before we proceed, remember one thing that this number has been achieved when cases of omicron variant are rapidly increasing in the country.

With 45 crores, Pushpa made its way to the elite list of top 10 Indian openers. The list is inclusive of all languages and not just Bollywood films. The list is topped by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.

Pushpa topples Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa scored 45 crores thus surpassing Happy New Year’s 44.97 crores. It’s indeed an achievement! It’s now the 7th highest Indian opener.

Allu Arjun’s film rocking in Telugu version!

Out of 45 crores, the Telugu version has contributed 38 crores. Hindi version has contributed 3 crores. Tamil version has contributed 2.25 crores, while Malayalam version has contributed 1.75 crores.

Speaking of the states, the film has earned majorly from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Karnataka is the second-highest contributor.

The Gross collection of Pushpa stands at 53.10 crores.

Facing stiff competition from Spider-Man: No Way Home

What’s make the film’s opening more applaudable is that it is facing tremendous competition from Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. The superhero flick has caused a big dent if the multiplex audience is concerned. Despite this odd, the film has shined on its opening day.
