What a comeback by King Khan! After keeping fans on standby for 4 long years, Shah Rukh Khan has returned to the big screens with Pathaan to destroy all previous box office records. Not long ago, KGF Chapter 2 created records with its Hindi version that looked untouchable. But guess what, King Khan is surpassing every record like a cakewalk. Now, here’s what first 3-day collection tells us!
Blockbuster start at the box office!
Decision to release film on 25th January instead of Republic Holiday looked odd earlier but it actually benefitted the film a lot. The Shah Rukh Khan opened to 57 crores on day 1 and thanks to positive word-of-mouth, it grew massively and enjoyed the added advantage of Republic Day to rake in a massive 70.50 crores. This start suggests an all-time blockbuster is in the making!
Solid momentum on day 3
After mind-blowing first 2 days, Pathaan maintained surprisingly outstanding hold on day 3 and as per early estimates, earned a whopping 35 crores*. Collection even in the range of 25-30 crores would have been good considering out of the world collection in the first 2 days. However, Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film is here to get itself registered in history books.
Pathaan vs KGF Chapter 2
In the first 3 days, Pathaan has earned an unprecedented collection of 162.50 crores* at the Indian box office. If we remove Tamil and Telugu versions from it, the Hindi collections are around an unbelievable 157 crores*. With this number, it has once again knocked down KGF Chapter 2 (Hindi). The 3-day collection of the Yash starrer was 143.64 crores. We can clearly see, the Siddharth Anand directorial has left KGF 2 way behind.
Legacy to continue…
Pathaan has established box office records that would be hard to achieve in the coming time. Collections on single day and opening weekend are really high and is new extraordinary benchmark set by Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film. Let’s see who’ll be able to touch or cross it!
