Amid a wave of epic failures, mid-budget films have brought a smile to Bollywood and the same is expected from Ek Villain Returns, which releases this Friday. After Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and JugJugg Jeeyo, this suspense-thriller could be a pleasant surprise. While the talks about its box office are on, let’s take a look at its budget and how much fees Disha Patani, John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria are charging.
The Mohit Suri directorial is a standalone sequel to the 2014 hit, Ek Villain. The prequel starred Shraddha Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh. Apart from the chartbuster music, it was praised for performances and was a big box office success. Coming to the sequel, though the music hasn’t become that popular, enough is done to attract youths to theatres. Also, the raunchy yet thrilling look of the trailer has definitely grabbed the eyeballs.
Ek Villain Returns budget
The film is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and T-Series. Reportedly, EVR has a budget of 55 crores. It’s a mid-budget Bollywood entertainer and such a cost is sure to help in getting good returns even if the film turns out to be a decent watch.
JugJugg Jeeyo had a slightly more budget of 60 crores, while Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was budgeted at 65 crores.
Disha Patani, John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor & Tara Sutaria’s fees
Ek Villain Returns has John taking away the biggest chunk of the amount as his salary. He has reportedly charged 8 crores. Disha is the second highest paid actor in the cast as she has taken home 6Â crores as her fees. Arjun has reportedly charged 4 crores and Tara has got 2 crores for her role.
Ek Villain Returns releases on 29th July.
