Ayushmann Khurrana continues to surprise us with some amazing freshly approached concepts. His upcoming film, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, deals with the LGBTQ community. The subject is really bold one and has a niche appeal. However, as we all know, Ayushmann is an expert in delivering box office successes even with niche concepts. So, this one too might open well. First impression of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui
On normal days, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui would have been among Ayushmann’s top 3 openers. But during these times, hitting the 5 crore mark would be an achievement for the film. The reason we say so is that we have seen many biggies with stars names attached, have fallen flat on opening day.
The biggest turn-off was Satyameva Jayate 2’s low opening. Despite being a sequel to a hit film, and a star like John Abraham in it, the film opened with just 3.60 crores on day 1. Aayush Sharma’s Antim too had an extended cameo of megastar Salman Khan. Unfortunately, it took just about a fair start of 5 crores on day 1.
Other than Sooryavanshi, none of the Bollywood releases of 2021 have hit a double-digit score on day 1.
Under such circumstances, it’s really hard to predict Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’s opening.
Things working for Ayushmann Khurrana’s film
Also starring Vaani Kapoor in lead, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui deals with a strong subject. That’s alone has created a huge buzz. Trailer and songs too have been caught well by the audience.
