Varisu vs Thunivu box office tussle would go on for a couple of weeks more as both the films have slowed down. So far, both Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar’s films have done good business and turned out to be profitable ventures for the makers and distributors. Let’s check out their worldwide collection till now i.e. after 29 days in theatres.
Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu is a Pongal clash winner
After 8 years, Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar clashed at the box office. As expected, a huge craze was seen, especially in Tamil Nadu. Now, after so many since the day of release (11th January), we have got a clear cut winner in the form of Vijay’s Varisu, which has dominated Ajith’s Thunivu by a huge margin.
Varisu & Thunivu worldwide collection till now
Both films have completed 29 days in theatres. Speaking first about the Thalapathy Vijay starrer, the family entertainer has earned a healthy total of 175 crores nett at the Indian box office. In gross, it equals 206.50 crores gross. In overseas, it has earned 89 crores gross, taking the worldwide collection to 295.50 crores gross.
Now coming to Ajith Kumar’s action-thriller, the film has made 121 crores nett in India, which equals to Indian gross of 142.78 crores. In overseas, it has earned 55 crores gross. The overall worldwide total stands at 197.78 crores gross.
Varisu and Thunivu are expected to earn 300 crore milestone and 200 crore milestone respectively at the worldwide box office before wrapping up the lifetime run.
