The Kashmir Files Hits 100 Crore Mark In Style On Day 8, Bachchhan Paandey Takes A Good Start On Day 1

The Kashmir Files finally came face to face at the box office with Bachchhan Paandey on its day 8. On the occasion of Holi, both films collided and let’s see how the collection of both the films fared.

Bachchhan Paandey was Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated commercial potboiler. It finally released on Holi i.e. yesterday. Earlier, it looked like the film dominated the box office till RRR arrives on 25th March, but the situation has been totally different as The Kashmir Files continues to do wonders.

The Kashmir Files completed its historic first week and as per early estimates, it has earned 21-23 crores on day 8. Now, this is simply outstanding as the film has seen its biggest day in the second week. The film has finally hit the 100 crore mark and now stands at a grand total of 118.30-120.18 crores. It’s now on its way to becoming an ALL-TIME BLOCKBUSTER!

Coming to Bachchhan Paandey, the Akshay Kumar starter did a good job on its day 1. Despite the destructive force of TKF, BP earned 13-15 crores on opening day. As word-of-mouth is decent and masses are loving it, it will be interesting to see how much jump it shows on day 2 and day 3.

Speaking about the box office on a whole, both The Kashmir Files and Bachchhan Paandey brought a cumulative collection of whopping 34-38 crores in a single day at the box office. On Saturday and Sunday, the number could even surpass the mark of 40 crores. One can say, happy days at ticket windows are back again!

As far as screen count is concerned, TKF has got an upper hand from exhibitors/theatre owners as the count has been increased to 4000 from 2000. On the other hand, Akshay’s film is playing on around 3000 screens.
