The Greatest Of All Time, starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role, is aiming high at the Indian box office on its day 1, and considering the response it is enjoying, the film is on the right track. The advance booking is going on in full swing, with Tamil Nadu being the best-performing state, followed by Karnataka and Kerala. The mark of 15 crores gross has already been crossed and now, it aims to cross Stree 2 in pre-sales.
The Venkat Prabhu directorial was low on buzz, but now, with the makers giving back-to-back interviews to entertainment portals, the film has created good awareness among neutrals. Among fans, The GOAT is already a hot property, and the tickets are being sold like hotcakes. There are still two more days to go for the grand release, but the film has already registered the highest opening day pre-sales for a Kollywood film in 2024.
Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 had sold tickets worth 11.20 crores gross through advance booking for day 1. Now, the number has been comfortably surpassed as The Greatest Of All Time has already amassed 15.50 crores gross (as of 11 am IST) through pre-sales for the opening day, thus marking the highest day 1 pre-sales for a Tamil film at the Indian box office in 2024. If we talk about all Indian films of 2024, Kalki 2898 AD is at the top with opening day pre-sales of 55.11 crores gross. Guntur Kaaram is in second place with 24.90 crores gross. Stree 2 is in third place with 23.36 crores gross, followed by The Greatest Of All Time’s 15.50 crores gross in fourth place. Indian 2 is in fifth place with 11.20 crores gross.
From here, The GOAT might beat Stree 2’s 23.36 crores gross, and with a little more push, it might even cross Guntur Kaaram. Kalki 2898 AD is out of reach.
