Prithviraj Sukumaran's The Goat Life is set to release this Thursday. Here's the box office advance booking update!
Prithviraj Sukumaran’s much-awaited The Goat Life (titled Aadujeevitham in Malayalam) is all set for release on 28 March. It is one of the biggest films in Prithviraj’s career and is a survivalist drama based on the real-life Indian migrant worker who finds himself living a slave-like existence, herding goats in the middle of the desert.
Directed by Blessy, The Goat Life has actress Amala Paul as the female lead. Made on a reported budget of 80 crores, it has enjoyed impressive pre-sales so far. In Kerala, the advance booking has already crossed the 1.75 crore gross mark, while in the overseas market, the film has crossed $200K in pre-sales. Total worldwide pre-sales for the biggie have amassed more than 3.7 crores gross as of now. So far, 60,000 tickets have already been sold.
The Goat Life has also been dubbed into other languages like Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. With such pre-sales, a good double-digit start at the box office is definitely on the cards, with decent support expected from the dubbed versions. Positive word-of-mouth and curiosity generated as a result of the film being based on a novel of the same name, Aadujeevitham, contributed to the pre-release excitement of the film.
Prithviraj, who was recently seen donning an interesting avatar in Salaar, has reportedly high hopes for the film which began shooting almost five years ago. The film is expected to open well in UAE and the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries, along with North America.
Prithviraj had to undergo a massive transformation for the role and has actively been doing promotions and attending press conferences. He hopes that Malayalam cinema reaches new heights and garners new audiences through the film. With this outing, will he lay the road for his way back into national headlines? Let’s wait and watch.
