Allu Arjun’s Pushpa has turned out to be a major disappointment at the box office in Russia. The film was released on 8th December and was expected to rake in a good collection. However, the numbers now coming in are shocking, to say the least. It is learnt that the makers have failed to recover the money they spent to market the release.
Commercial success in India & overseas
Back in 2021, upon its original release, despite all the Covid scare and restrictions in place, the Pushpa managed to recover its huge budget and bring in handsome profits at the box office. It was a huge commercial success and the worldwide collection went beyond 350 crores gross.
Heavy promotions before release in Russia
Before the release in Russia, the entire team of Pushpa including Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and others carried out extensive promotions in the country. Be it TV interviews or radio interviews, the team put in solid efforts. As the response from the public was huge, the film had high expectations pinned on it.
Pushpa’s collection in Russia
As per trade source, Pushpa has done a business of 30 lakhs in Russia. This is an extremely disappointing number as it clearly shows the rejection by the audience. The collection has been reported from 750 screens in the country. It is also learnt that the film was out of theatres within the first 3-4 days due to poor response.
Makers lose big money!
Reportedly, ahead of Pushpa release in Russia, the makers spent a huge amount of 3 crores to carry out proper promotions and marketing in the country. As reported number is just 30 lakhs, the makers are bearing huge losses.
Now, let’s see how Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 will be received upon its release in Russia.
