After the thunderous and unprecedented ride at the Indian box office, the Hindi-dubbed version of Pushpa 2 has closed its theatrical run. Starring Allu Arjun in the lead role, the film was no less than a phenomenon and fetched unbelievable numbers ever since it started its theatrical journey. It comfortably surpassed Stree 2 to emerge as the highest-grossing Hindi film ever and inaugurated the 700 and 800 crore clubs for Hindi films. Now, that the film is available to stream on OTT, the collection has come to a standstill.
Directed by Sukumar, the magnum opus also featured Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, and Rao Ramesh in key roles. It was released theatrically on December 5, 2024. Backed by a crazy on-ground buzz, the film started its run on an epic note and posted insane numbers. This dominance wasn’t just limited to the first few days as even after the initial rush, the film remained unbeatable due to positive word-of-mouth among the masses.
During the theatrical journey, Pushpa 2 (Hindi) broke almost every record at the Indian box office. The end was on the cards after it premiered on Netflix. Also, with several films arriving in the Hindi market today, the run of the Allu Arjun starrer has come to an end. There are one or two shows across selected cities, but that won’t add any collection to the tally. In fact, from Monday onwards, even the remaining shows are expected to be replaced with fresh releases. So, technically, the film has wrapped up its run after spending 9 weeks, i.e., 64 days in theatres.
Pushpa 2 (Hindi) registered an earth-shattering collection of 433.50 crores in its 8-day extended opening week. Despite new releases, it remained unshakable for weeks but since it was watched by a significant number of moviegoers, the saturation effect was noticed in the last couple of weeks as numbers went down drastically. Cut to week 9, the film added another 30 lakh in the last week. Overall, the Hindi-dubbed version ended its run by earning a colossal 836 crore net at the Indian box office in 9 weeks.
