Vanvaas of Shah Rukh Khan as well as Bollywood has finally ended as King Khan is back like anything with his mega-blockbuster in making, Pathaan. Released on a non-holiday, the film has shattered all previous records of Hindi cinema and has set some unachievable box office targets for upcoming releases. Now, let’s check out its worldwide collection on day 1!
Record-breaking start in India
In India, Pathaan has shattered all the pre-existing box office records by setting a new high and that too on a non-holiday. It earned 57 crores nett which is highest ever for a Bollywood film and made 55 crores from Hindi version alone by surpassing the record Hindi collections of KGF Chapter 2 (53.95 crores).
Speaking about pure Bollywood releases, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has crossed the biggest openers like War and Thugs Of Hindostan.
Record-breaking collection in overseas
Just like in India, in overseas too, Pathaan has surpassed all previous records of Bollywood. The film has earned a staggering 36.69 crores gross on day 1. This is highest ever opening for a Hindi film. It’s not that surprising as Shah Rukh Khan has always been the King in overseas market.
Pathaan worldwide collection on day 1
Now coming to worldwide collection, Pathaan has earned an earth-shattering 106 crores gross on day 1 (including 67.26 crores Indian gross + 36.69 crores gross from reported overseas territories and 2.05 crores gross from some unreported territories).
With 106 crores, Pathaan has become the only Bollywood film to hit 100 crores on opening day. The previous best was Brahmastra (75 crores). It’s simply out of the world response. With positive word-of-mouth spreading like a wildfire, the film is going touch new heights in the coming days. Just keep your calm and enjoy the box office reporting!
