The official box office numbers for KGF Chapter 2 are out, and there’s just one word to describe them- HUMONGOUS. Yes, the film has performed way beyond the expectations on its day 1 in India and made its place in the top 3 all-time highest Indian openers.
KGF 2 has been in the making for a long time and further, the Covid-19 pandemic spoiled all the release plans. However, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as with an increase in the period, the anticipation went sky high. It reached its peak before erupting like a volcano on the 14th of April.
KGF Chapter 2 took the biggest ever start for any Hindi film by raking in a jaw-dropping 53.95 crores on day 1, surpassing War’s 51.60 crores (Hindi version only). Thanks to this solid support from the Hindi audience, the film put on a historical total of 116 crores on day 1, inclusive of all languages.
Out of this 116 crores, as mentioned above, the Hindi version has contributed 53.95 crores. Telugu version has contributed 25.80 crores. Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam versions contributed 23.15 crores, 8.20 crores and 4.90 crores respectively.
KGF Chapter 2 is the 3rd in the list of the top 10 all-time highest Indian openers at the box office. SS Rajamouli’s RRR is at the top with 134 crores, while his Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is at 2nd with 121 crores.
With extraordinary word-of-mouth, already high advance booking and 3 days still to go of the extended weekend, KGF Chapter 2 is all set to create destruction at the box office.
