After waiting for so long, finally, the trailer of Rocketry – The Nambi Effect is out. The film marks the directorial debut of R Madhavan and also features him in a lead role. The trailer which released a few hours back has hit the right chords with the audience. While Madhavan’s performance and looks are stealing the show, it’s also the appearance of Shah Rukh Khan and Suriya which is making all the noise.

Rocketry – The Nambi Effect is based on the life of Indian scientist (ISRO), Nambi Narayanan. He is the recipient of Padma Bhushan. Unfortunately, life wasn’t easy for the veteran. He is the brainchild of liquid propulsion (liquid fuel) in Indian rocketry. Unfortunately despite giving so much to the country, he was falsely accused of selling sensitive information to Maldivian intelligence officers. In 1994, Nambi Narayanan was arrested and the Supreme Court of India dismissed all the charges in 1998.

First of all, thanks to R Madhavan to choose such a real-life story to present. Now, let’s have a look at the highlights of the trailer.

R Madhavan’s different looks

Rocketry – The Nambi Effect’s trailer oozes Madhavan’s dedication in every frame. Right from the body language to several looks, Madhavan has nailed every phase of Nambi Narayanan’s life. Even if you watch the trailer by keeping it on mute, you’ll be stunned by Madhavan’s different avatars. Interestingly, he took a piece of advice from Aamir Khan to incorporate different looks.

Shah Rukh Khan’s special appearance

As learnt earlier, Shah Rukh Khan has a special appearance in the film. In the English and Hindi trailer, Khan right at the start interviewing Madhavan’s Nambi. It’s a great joy to watch Khan after a break post-Zero (2018).

Suriya’s special appearance

Shah Rukh is replaced by Suriya in the Tamil and Telugu version of the film. Good to see Suriya and R Madhavan sharing a screen.

The fad of declaring traitor

The trailer of Rocketry – The Nambi Effect shows how Nambi Narayanan had to deal with allegations of being a traitor. People torture him by calling him ‘deshdrohi’ without knowing the truth. There’s a dialogue in the trailer that hits hard- “Agar kisi ko barbaad karna ho, toh ye elaan kardo ki who deshdrohi” (If you want to destroy someone, declare him as a traitor of the country).

Crisp editing and A LOT of HARDWORK!

After taking the first glimpse at the trailer, one can notice the crisp editing. It’s one of the most paced trailers in recent times. And last but not least is, the efforts being put in the making. The film has been shot in multiple languages rather than just putting a dubbed version. Rocketry – The Nambi Effect was in the making since 2017 and it could be clearly seen from the trailer.
