KGF Chapter 2 is a hot property not only amongst cine-goers but also amongst distributors. The hype for this Yash starrer is so much that distributor of its every version knows, putting money on this particular film will be a jackpot deal for them. Some similar example we have witnessed as KGF 2 Hindi rights has been sold at a whopping cost to Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.
Just a few days back, we have informed our readers about KGF 2 rights (Hindi) being sold at seven times more than the price of its prequel. Now, as per strong reports that are making a whirlpool in the trade industry, the price at which Hindi distribution rights has been sold is as high as 90 crores. Yes, that’s right! And Excel Entertainment has signed a deal with open arms.
From KGF Chapter 2’s Hindi version, the expectations are sky high and 100 crore mark from the theatrical business is the bare minimum expectation. So, as of now, it seems like Excel Entertainment is playing in a safe zone. In fact, if the content strikes a right chord with masses (looks highly possible), the sky will be the limit for this highly anticipated saga of Yash aka Rocky Bhai. So, Farhan and Ritesh’s Excel is currently in a win-win situation.
Meanwhile, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has earlier informed of purchasing the Malayalam distribution rights of KGF Chapter 2. The film will be presented under his banner, Prithviraj Productions.
KGF 2 will be releasing in five languages simultaneously including Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Its Kannada and Telugu version will be distributed by KRG Studios and Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, respectively.
