On March 18, Zack Snyder’s Justice League saw its release all across the globe. In India, the film is available on the pay-per-view website, BookMyShow Stream, and internationally on HBO Max.
The film was amongst the highly anticipated releases of recent times and well, it has already started breaking records. It’s learnt that on BookMyShow Stream, the film has received over 70,000 pre-orders. On March 6, pre-orders for renting a screening went live on the website. Snyder Cut has had a lot of positive feedback, according to BookMyShow.
“The film’s (Zack Snyder’s Justice League) pre-release success illustrates the promise of the TVoD model, and the subsequent expansion of the available window for a movie’s life cycle is a testimony to India’s changing entertainment consumption habits when offered a convincing content library with a world-class product rolled into one,” reads the statement by BookMyShow’s CEO Ashish Saksena.
For the unversed, director Zack Snyder, who previously directed Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, had to leave the film during post-production due to his daughter’s tragic death. Joss Whedon, better known for the Marvel hit, The Avengers and its sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron, was called to work on the film’s post-production, reshoots, and other stuff.
However, several people claim that Joss Whedon trimmed down the film, making it entirely different from Snyder’s view. In the end, the film performed not-so-well at the box office, and fans were outraged.
DC Extended Universe (DCEU) fans requested the studio to release the original version of Zack Snyder, followed by the theatrical release of the film and the movement #ReleaseTheSnyderCut became famous as we know it right now.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League‘s immense success demonstrates that it has received an insurmountable amount of love from the fans of DCEU in India as well as the world. It will be exciting to see how the universe now unfolds for the fans and competes with the giant Marvel who is rolling out hits after hits.
