Once upon a time, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra’s rumoured affair was talk of the town. And yes, it did p*ss Twinkle Khanna off. Below is one such incident related to it.
Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna make one of the loveliest couples in the industry. The two maintain a healthy private relationship and are never involved in public controversies. But things were not all good, several years back.
The rift started when Akshay shared screen space with industry newcomer, Priyanka Chopra, in the film Andaaz in 2003. The film was a huge hit and fans poured love for Akki and PC’s chemistry.
The pair of Priyanka and Akshay was so much loved that they received several offers as a couple. They went on to feature in as many as three more films. The chemistry between the two was so good that speculations begun doing rounds that there’s something going on between the two. Initially, these speculations did not bother Twinkle. However, after a time, she warned Akshay to stay away from her. when he ignored her, she called Priyanka to warn her to stay away from her husband.Â
Rumours had it that Twinkle Khanna had a heated argument with Priyanka on a phone call. It got so intense that Twinkle reached the sets of ‘Waqt: The Race Against Time’, the movie which featured Akshay and Priyanka. Reportedly, Twinkle was so infuriated that she would have slapped Priyanka. However, she was not present on the sets, and Akshay was trying to calm her down had to bear the anger.Â
Later, Akshay Kumar shared a public and official statement, making it clear that he will never work with Priyanka Chopra. Later, he took ‘u turn’ and said he’s ready to work with PC.
When Priyanka asked about Akshay‘s statement, she refuted it saying Akshay can’t speak like that. Speaking about her herself, PC said that she always chooses her films looking at the script and not co-actors.
