It looks like Thalapathy Vijay is going to rule headlines for most of this year and the upcoming year for many reasons; the most important of them being that he has announced his retirement from films. This came as a shock to his devoted fans, who were not expecting this news at all. But they were overjoyed when Vijay announced that he was giving up movies to join politics. Now, the actor is back in the news due to his upcoming film, The Greatest Of All Time.
The superstar is going to star in two films before the curtain falls on his cinematic career – one being The Greatest of All Time, previously titled Thalapathy 68, directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Archana Kalpathi under the banner of AGS Entertainment. Its first look and title were first unveiled on X (formerly Twitter) by the producer in December last year. Captioning the post, she wrote, “Our Thalapathy is the Greatest Of All Time (sic).”
Now, the most happening news is that The Greatest Of All Time’s satellite rights have been bagged by Zee Network for a whopping Rs 90 crores (for all languages). Guess Zee had to get ahead of everybody else in the race to leash the GOAT!
Meanwhile, the music of The Greatest Of All Time is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. It is speculated that Trisha Krishnan will be making a cameo appearance in the film. An audio track, ‘Whistle Podu’ from the movie was released recently to mixed reactions from audiences. It is scheduled to release on 5th September 2024.
