Wankhede had submitted a petition against Prabhakar Sail affidavit.
Aryan Khan’s case is taking some shocking turns each day. In the latest twist, Sameer Wankhede (NCB zonal director), under whom the whole operation of Aryan’s case was carried out, has got no relief from the Mumbai sessions court. Below is all you to know in detail.
Yesterday, Prabhakar Sail, one of the witnesses of the cruise drugs party case, made a shocking revelation and claims against Wankhede. He even submitted an affidavit in which he stated that Wankhede directed him to sign on the blank punchnama. In the same affidavit, he also states of hearing a telephonic conversation regarding a demand of 25 crores to settle the case.
For those who don’t know, Prabhakar Sail is a bodyguard of Kiran P Gosavi, who is also of the witnesses in the case. As of now, Gosavi has absconded. Gosavi even faces the charges of fraud.
Against the affidavit filed by Sail, NCB had filed a plea in Mumbai sessions court. The plea was about seeking directions against the allegations and claims made regarding NCB and Sameer Wankhede. The plea also stated that the affidavit of Prabhakar Sail shouldn’t be considered as it will interfere with the ongoing investigation.
Mumbai sessions court dismissed the plea and directed NCB to approach Bombay High Court, where the hearing of Aryan Khan’s case is taking place.
In a statement, VV Patil (special judge of Mumbai sessions court) said, “No such blanket orders can be passed. It is for the concerned court or authority to pass appropriate order at the relevant stage. Moreover, the matter is sub-judice before the Bombay High Court in bail applications. Therefore no such orders can be passed by this Court.”
It’s really a big blow for Sameer Wankhede and NCB!
Meanwhile, NCB has ordered an inquiry of Wankhede over bribery charges made by Sail against him. The inquiry will be headed by Gyaneshwar Singh, (NCB deputy director general of the northern region). In the wake of the same, as we write, Wankhede has reportedly left for Delhi.
