The high voltage clash – Varisu vs Thunivu – is now getting its winner as the extended weekend is going to end soon. It’s none other than Thalapathy Vijay who has now taken a huge lead over Ajith Kumar in the box office battle. In the worldwide collection, Vijay’s latest release has crossed the mark of 100 crores in just 4 days!
Tables have turned in the favour of Thalapathy Vijay
On the opening day, Thunivi had opened slightly better than Varisu in Tamil Nadu. However, right from the day 2 onwards, the momentum shifted in the favour of Thalapathy Vijay’s film. Speaking about the entire nation and worldwide box office, Vijay’s has been leading the race right from the day 1 and now he has moved much ahead.
Varisu vs Thunivu in India in the first 4 days
As we said above, Vijay has been leading the clash from the opening day itself and now, the difference between his and Ajith’s film has increased. In the first 4 days i.e. till Saturday, Vijay’s family entertainer earned 65.25 crores nett (inclusive of Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages) at the Indian box office. On the other hand, Ajith’s actioner has earned 56.10 crores nett (inclusive of Tamil and Telugu).
Varisu vs Thunivu at the worldwide box office in the first 4 days
Just like Beast, Vijay’s Varisu too is doing good business in overseas, thus pushing it in the worldwide game. So far, it has earned 28 crores gross from international circuits. Combining this with Indian gross of 76.99 crores, the film stands at a global total of 104.99 crores gross in 4 days.
Speaking about Ajith’s Thunivu, the film is doing decent business in overseas and has earned 16 crores gross so far. Combining it with Indian gross of 56.10 crores gross, the worldwide collection stands at 82.19 crores gross in 4 days.
As we clearly see, Thalapathy Vijay is leading the race with a huge margin of over 20 crores gross on a global level.
