Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh starrer Ved has opened to solid numbers at the box office across Maharashtra. The film has made an impressive collection till now as despite Avatar 2, there’s no other major competitor in the state. Now, apart from the total earnings, let’s see what is the budget of the latest Marathi release.
Riteish Deshmukh rocking the Marathi audience
Released on 30th December 2022, the latest release marks Riteish’s directorial debut. Even though the actor is having passable innings in Bollywood, he’s ruling over the Marathi audience. In the past, Riteish has delivered a blockbuster like Lai Bhaari in Marathi. His mass avatar was loved by the audience. Over the years, he has earned his loyal following among the Marathi audience and his latest release is a strong proof of it.
Ved received decent response with its trailer and songs. There was some buzz around the film’s release but ever since it arrived in theatres, the positive word-of-mouth is spreading like wildfire.
Ved collection till now
Ved took a good start by making 2.25 crores. It grew well on day 2 by registering 3.25 crores. It jumped again on Sunday to earn 4.50 crores. On the whole, the total collection after the opening weekend stands at a whopping 10 crores in Maharashtra. It’s simply superb and bigger than the weekend of Dharmaveer (9.08 crores), which had a huge pre-release buzz.
As of now, except for Avatar 2, the film has no major competition in the state. Till Pathaan arrives on 25th January, this Riteish Deshmukh directorial will continue its undisrupted run.
Ved budget
The Riteish Deshmukh starrer is reportedly made at a budget of 15 crores, making it one of the most expensive Marathi films. Considering the pace at the box office, the romantic-drama is expected to enter into a profit zone within its first week itself.
