The result of the Pongal clash is now everywhere and we know that Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu has scored a win over Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu. Not just domestically but even at the worldwide box office, Vijay is leading the clash by a huge margin and at the end of 11 days, the film is out of reach for Ajith’s action entertainer.

On the opening day, Thunivu had left Varisu behind in Tamil Nadu by a slight margin. However, if looked from a larger perspective, Vijay was much ahead at the Indian and worldwide box office. From day 2 onwards, Vijay took a lead over Ajith, only to move out of reach after 11 days.

After the end of 11 days, both the films are in good position in India with Thunivu just entering into the 100 crore club. As of now, the Ajith Kumar starrer has earned 100.30 crores nett collection (Tamil and Telugu). Varisu, on the other hand, is soon going to join the 150 crore club as its Indian total stands at 141.90 crores nett (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi).
Varisu vs Thunivu at the worldwide box office in 11 days
In 11 days, Varisu has amassed 167.44 crores gross in India and 77 crores gross in overseas markets. The overall global collection stands at a whopping 244.44 crores gross and it will join the 250 crore club by today. Speaking about Thunivu, the film has earned 118.35 crores gross in India and 50 crores gross in overseas, taking the worldwide total to 168.35 crores gross.
As we can clearly see, the distance between both the films is huge and there’s no chance that Ajith Kumar’s actioner could close to Thalapathy Vijay’s family entertainer.
