Tillu is on fire! And looks like the audience can’t get enough of him. Tillu Square, the second installment of the Tillu franchise has been pulling crowds ever since its release on 29th March. Made at a moderate budget of 40 crores, the film has turned out to be a huge success at the box office. Keep reading to know more!
The crime comedy film is directed by Mallik Ram and produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the banner of Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. It stars the charming Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Anupama Parameswaran in lead roles. Anupama even went for a bold new makeover for the film, which has been the talk of T-town.
After 16 days, in India, Tillu Square’s net collection stands at 75 crores, while the gross collection reached 88.50 crores gross. In overseas, the film has earned 30 crores gross so far. Altogether, the worldwide box office collection stands at 118.50 crores gross.
Speaking about the predecessor, DJ Tillu had only collected a worldwide gross of 30.30 crores gross with a distributor’s share of 17.25 crore gross. This means its successor, Tillu Square, has almost four times the earnings of the first installment.
What is contributing to this? If we are to go by anecdotes by moviegoers and critics online, they have hailed the film as a complete laugh riot that keeps you on your feet. Add to that Sidhu’s funny one-liners and Anupama’s allure, and you’ve got a winning combo. We have to wait and watch to see what other milestones Tillu Square is going to reach.
