Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna’s Goodbye has released in theatres today all across the country. As expected, the film opened on a slower note at the box office by remaining dull throughout the day. Let’s see how much collection it is making on its day 1.

Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film marks the debut of Rashmika in Bollywood. Contrary to the hype and craze Rashmika enjoys on social media, this family drama failed to create any pre-release buzz for itself. And it was pretty much written on the wall that the film will mostly go unnoticed by many.

Now, as per the early estimates, Goodbye will be wrapping up its day 1 between 1.40-1.70 crores nett. This is really a poor start considering the film has a force like Amitabh Bachchan. For such films, a good jump is usually seen on Saturday and Sunday as families come out in big numbers to have a good time in theatres. Unfortunately, such case won’t happen here as the word-of-mouth is pretty average and no one really is giving a full thumbs up.

Goodbye will still witness a rise in collection on Saturday and Sunday, but from Monday onwards, it will just hang around until Ayushmann Khurrana’s Doctor G takes its place among multiplex audience. Speaking of the opening weekend, the film will face a stiff competition from Hrithik Roshan‘s Vikram Vedha, which is expected to take over the numbers of Amitabh Bachchan and Rashmika Mandanna starrer.

Directed by Vikas Bahl, Goodbye also stars Neena Gupta, Sunil Grover, Pavail Gulati, Ashish Vidyarthi and others in key roles. So far it has received decent to positive reviews from critics but the audience word-of-mouth is average.
